Our article The ISM® Mastery Model(TM) was not accepted and was deleted before we had the opportunity to address what the editor suggested were references to copyrighted material. The references in question pointed to coverage of news/articles referencing content originating from The ISM Mastery Model.
We'd appreciate the opportunity to revise the piece, and/or to have someone be in touch to explain how to refine it so that it meets the acceptance criteria.
Thanks. ERV5437 (talk) 00:27, 17 December 2015 (UTC)
- Hi ERV5437 when a draft contains ® and (TM) symbols it simply screams SPAM! Such symbols are never used in Wikipedia. The problem is not "references to" copyright material - it was actually directly copied. Such copying is not merely against a Wikipedia rule, it is actually illegal. You can reference copyright material but you cannot directly copy it - except for a short phrase or two when really necessary. In any case such material is never appropriate for a Wikipedia article because our articles must be neutrally written based mostly on independent reliable sources such as the mainstream press, books from reputable publishers or academic publications. What subjects say about themselves is of very little interest here. We don't care that ACME Inc. think they are the greatest Roadrunner catching equipment manufacturers in the whole universe, Wikipedia only really cares about what completely independent commentators have said about ACME Inc. - the good and the bad. Regarding reliable resources... The BBC, Times of London and a leading Spanish sports newspaper are not reliable sources? A bit confused.

Hello, my article was denied based on copyright issues. The info taken from the source noted was removed and I rewrote the Community Benefit section as needed and then resubmitted for review. It said it was again denied for copyright issues (on 12/16) but has no note of where to fix anything so I don't understand which portions need to be changed.

I have plenty of significant, independent, reliable references from notable websites. But that is the reason given for not including the page i am trying to add to wikipedia. Can you please explain what is wrong with the sources i am quoting?
